Health care is getting more attention now a days. Since, most jobs need 8–9 hours of desk labour, if not more. Nonetheless, working all day and being healthy do not always go along. Hence, following these healthy life style tips are important to maintain a balance between health and work.
Ironically, most people preferring desk labour to improve their quality of life, often at the cost of their health. So, how can professionals maintain a healthy lifestyle despite working long hours frequently?
Here are three healthy life style tips I have been following over the years
Eating mindfully means being attentive of what you eat and why you are eating it. Moreover, it means preparing, sitting, and enjoying each bite. Slowing down, observing textures, and chewing slowly are all forms of mindful eating.
Mindful eating is when you eat for reasons other than the necessities and hunger of your body. Every day, we are offered a vast array of choices. Our pantries and cupboards are stocked with food; there may even be leftovers from your child’s dinner.
If you eat healthily and exercise, but don’t see any weight loss, it’s likely due to mindless eating. It may seem insignificant to include a dab of peanut butter or a handful of chocolate chips in your lunch, but it adds up. It requires effort to abstain from thoughtless eating.
Eat homemade food
Whether you live alone or are a busy parent, finding the time and energy to prepare home-cooked meals can be challenging. Following a hard day, dining out or ordering in may appear to be the best option. On the other hand, convenience and processed foods can be detrimental to your mood and health.
Here are two main reasons to follow this healthy life style tips
- When preparing your own meals, you have more control over the ingredients. Plus, you can ensure that you eat only fresh, nutritious ingredients. As a result, it improves your appearance, energy level and attitude.
- Restaurants frequently serve greater quantities of food than diet. Most of the restaurants offer portions that exceed the recommended daily amount by two to three times. Therefore, you consume more calories than you would at home, causing weight gain, high blood pressure, and diabetes risk.
Exercise and physical activity
Exercise and physical activity are great ways to boost one’s attitude, health, and enjoyment. However, following are the deciding factor while selecting these healthy life style tips
- Every week, do at least 150 minutes of moderate to strenuous aerobic activity, or a combination of both and spread this out over a week. Examples include walking and swimming. Small amounts of daily physical activity add up to big health benefits.
- Do strength training exercises for all main muscle groups twice a week. Exercising with free weights, machines, or your own body weight are all examples.
Distribute your tasks throughout the week. Increase weekly moderate aerobic activity to 300 minutes to lose weight and achieving fitness goals.
